Introduction to the Teslike Model 3 Order Tracker

Within a few hours of the launch of this website, @TroyTeslike removed the Q1 2019 data from his spreadsheet. As a result, we have deleted our link to the sheet, as we don’t want to confuse visitors to this website. This post will remain as a snapshot, valid only through January 31, 2019.

Troy is free to do whatever he wants with his work, which we respect and consider a fine achievement. Nevertheless, his action perfectly illustrates why tslaQ.org now exists.

The Teslike Model 3 Order Tracker is a community spreadsheet, a Google Doc, created and maintained by data wizard @TroyTeslike to track Tesla Model 3 orders. Here’s how it works.

Buyers of Tesla Model 3s, who have VINs assigned, enter their purchase information into the Tracker:

  1. VIN
  2. Car configuration
  3. Configuration date
  4. Scheduled delivery date
  5. Actual delivery date
  6. Delivery city/state/country

With this data, total deliveries of Model 3s can be calculated, but it’s tricky because the calculation depends on the buyer participation rate. Q4 2018 data indicates a participation rate of roughly 1.3%.

Whatever the exact rate may be, there’s no doubt that the Tracker reflects future deliveries. As of 1/31/2019, the Tracker shows zero deliveries scheduled in the future.
